Christoffer Boe's romantic drama set on the Danish gourmet scene

IN PRODUCTION. Katrine Greis-Rosenthal and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau star in Christoffer Boe's upcoming feature 'A Taste of Hunger', which began shooting this week. The film is set for Danish release in January 2021.

Food and love are the main ingredients in Christoffer Boe's next feature film, 'A Taste of Hunger', written by Boe and Tobias Lindholm. The shoot began earlier this week.

The film follows Maggi and Carsten, played by Katrine Greis-Rosenthal and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, an invincible duo on the Danish gourmet scene. They love each other, have two wonderful children and own one of the most hyped food temples in Copenhagen, PURI. They want it all and they have it all. Almost. The prestigious Michelin-star is yet to be secured and the couple is willing to sacrifice everything to achieve their dream.

Greis-Rosenthal got her breakthrough with 'A Fortunate Man', followed by the TV series 'Warrior', written and directed by Boe. She also appeared in Thomas Vinterberg's 'Kursk'. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau became an international star with his leading role as Jaime Lannister in 'Game of Thrones'. He returned to Denmark with 'A Second Chance' by Susanne Bier, the one-location thriller 'Three Things' and the upcoming feature 'The Suicide Tourist'.

'A Taste of Hunger' follows Boe's recent success with 'The Purity of Vengeance', the fourth and final chapter in Zentropa franchise based on Jussi Adler-Olsen's bestselling Department Q novels. The film became one of the biggest box-office draws of the year with more than 770,000 tickets sold nationwide. Boe wrote and directed the TV series 'Warrior', which aired in 2018, and 'Interrogation', which premieres next month.

Boe made his debut in 2003 with 'Reconstruction', which earned him the Camera d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, and has since directed films such as 'Allegro' and 'Offscreen', both of which screened at Venice Film Festival and Sundance, as well as 'Everything Will Be Fine', selected for Cannes, 'Beast' and 'Sex, Drugs and Taxation'.

Tobias Lindholm has written screenplays for films such as Oscar nominee 'The Hunt' and Silver Bear-winner 'The Commune' in addition to the films he also directed, including the award-winning debut 'R', 'A Hijacking' selected for Venice Film Festival, and the Oscar-nominated 'A War'.

'A Taste of Hunger' is produced by Louise Vesth for Zentropa and co-produced by Zentropa Sweden and Film i Väst with support from the Danish Film Institute, Svenska Filminstitutet and Nordisk Film & TV Fond, in collaboration with TV 2 Danmark and SVT with development support from the Creative Europe Programme.
