To ensomme mennesker, Frankie og Johnny, arbejder begge på en lille restaurant i New York. Frankie har mistet sin tro på kærligheden og vil helst sidde alene hjemme og se video. Johnny derimod tror stadig på at der skal to til at jage ensomheden på flugt, og, stærkt inspireret af navneligheden med parret fra den berømte sang, sætter han alt ind på at vinde Frankie.
