Janus Metz

(1974 – )

Director. Born 1974. Holds an MA in Communication and International Studies from Roskilde University.

'Love on Delivery' (2008) and 'Ticket to Paradise' (2008), made in collaboration with anthropologist and director Sine Plambech, tell the story of a group of Thai women and their Danish husbands.

Metz stepped into international limelight with his documentary from Afghanistan, 'Armadillo' (2010), which won numerous accolades, including the Grand Prix at Cannes' Semaine de la Critique. Metz' international career includes an episode of the HBO series 'True Detective' (2015).

'Heartbound' (2018), directed with Sine Plambech, is a continuation of Metz and Plambech's two films from 2008. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and won the top doc award at Zurich Film Festival. The film is selected for IDFA 2018.
