Mowgli har svært ved at tilpasse sig livet i landsbyen. Han savner junglen og ikke mindst sin bedste ven Baloo. I hemmelighed sniger han sig ud i junglen og mødes med Baloo, men pigen Shanti følger efter. Alt i mens vender den skumle tiger Shere Khan tilbage junglen. og han allierer sig med den forslugne slange Kaa.
