Morten Arnfred

Born 1945, Denmark. Musician, director and cofounder of the European Film College. A realist storyteller, Arnfred's "Johnny Larsen" (1979) was regarded as one of the most important films of the decade.

Two of his later features, both from the eighties, were Berlin contestants: Der er et yndigt land"/"Land of Plenty" (1983) and "Den russiske sangerinde"/"The Russian Singer" (1993). Arnfred was codirector on the first two serial installments of von Trier's "Riget"/"The Kingdom" (1994). Arnfred's romantic comedy "Lykkevej"/"Move Me" (2003) was well received at the domestic box office and lead Birthe Neumann received Best Actress award in Sevilla.
