1945-2025. Musician, director and cofounder of the European Film College. A realist storyteller, Arnfred's "Johnny Larsen" (1979) was regarded as one of the most important films of the decade.
Two of his later features, both from the eighties, were Berlin contestants: 'Der er et yndigt land' (Land of Plenty) (1983) and 'Den russiske sangerinde (The Russian Singer) (1993). Arnfred was codirector on the first two serial installments of von Trier's 'Riget (The Kingdom" (1994). Arnfred's romantic comedy "Lykkevej"/"Move Me" (2003) was well received at the domestic box office and lead Birthe Neumann received Best Actress award in Sevilla.
