In a small, wind-swept fishing community on the Northern coast of Denmark live 926 Thai-women. 25 years ago there were none – apart from Sommai, a former sex-worker from Pattaya.
This is a different – and at times awkward – love story about a group of lonely Danish men in the most depopulated area of Denmark and a group of industrious Thai women, who are willing to go to almost any length to carve out a brighter future for themselves and their children. One person’s story mirrors the next to form an emotional tapestry and an intimate exploration of the needs and desires that bring us together and pull us apart in one of the most important issues of our time: migration.
